Eligibility:
- Students eligible for the Erin Trujeque Memorial Scholarship must have been treated for childhood cancer in New Mexico
- Complete application in its entirety and submit prior to deadline
- In order to receive the full award, register for 9 or more hours per semester (award for less than 9 hours will be prorated)
- Students who drop classes below 9 hours or disenroll within the first two weeks of any semester MUST return scholarship award to Erin Trujeque Memorial Fund in order to be eligible for future scholarship awards.
- Complete a minimum of 12 volunteer hours per academic year at Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico and/or Erin Trujeque Memorial Event(s) (Hours will be scheduled with and verified by CCFNM staff. Six (6) hours must be completed prior to the beginning of the 2011 Fall Semester and six hours before the beginning of the 2012 Spring Semester.
- Inform Erin Trujeque Memorial/CCFNM of any changes in address or educational status.
Requirements:
- Scholarships are awarded for ONLY two semesters per academic year (e.g., Fall and Spring; Summer and Fall; Spring and Summer, etc.)
- Scholarship applications must include a short essay about how you have overcome your experiences with childhood cancer and how your goals for the future have been affected by this experience and enclose a recent photo, which will be displayed at tournament events. Failure to include this essay will constitute an “incomplete application” and will make you ineligible for a scholarship.
