The Erin Trujeque Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Erin Trujeque to assist students who have undergone treatment for childhood cancer in New Mexico and wish to continue their education beyond high school. If you will graduate from high school in 2012 and have been treated for childhood cancer in New Mexico, you are eligible to receive a scholarship to attend an institution of higher education for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Attached is an application for the Erin Trujeque Memorial Scholarship. We are pleased to be able to offer you this award for each year you further your education beyond high school. Providing you meet the qualifications and requirements and your application is received by the deadline, a check will be sent to your institution with a letter indicating that the total amount of the scholarship per semester should be credited to your tuition and fees and any balance remaining be returned to you. Your application must be received by no later than April 1, 2012 to be considered for a scholarship award.
The Erin Trujeque Memorial Golf Tournament, which will be held on July 12-13 is the funding source for the Erin Trujeque Memorial Scholarships. The amount of the scholarship is equivalent to in-state tuition at the University of New Mexico.

NOTE: The UNM Pediatric Oncology Program determines who should receive this letter based on date of birth and anticipated date of high school graduation. Letters are mailed from the UNM Pediatric Oncology Program and no names are shared with the Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico. If you are already receiving an Erin Trujeque Memorial Scholarship, please do not submit this application but rather the RENEWAL application that will be mailed to you directly.
