How We Help

threeThe Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico exists to help children and their families cope with the day-to-day emotional, financial, and educational needs of living with and fighting cancer.

Through our Helping Hand Program, our goals are:

  • To ensure all families basic needs are being met by providing assistance with rent, utilities, food, transportation, clothing, and special needs based on each individual child.
  • To provide playroom supplies, snacks, and toys to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic for our children and their families.
  • To grant any special requests that the families make in their time of need.

Our Helping Hand Program touches many of our families and children in ways such as:

  • Bravery Bucks (Checks written to children receiving treatment)
  • Cab Fare Vouchers
  • Car Repairs and Maintenance
  • Gasoline Vouchers
  • Lodging Assistance
  • Meal Vouchers
  • Scholarships Awarded to Cancer Survivors
  • Snacks and Drinks at the Hospital Clinic
  • Special Requests Made by Families
  • Toys and Gift Cards from the Prize Box
  • Travel Expenses
  • Wigs
  • Zoo, Museum, and Aquarium Passes
  • Funeral Expenses
