How We Help
The Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico exists to help children and their families cope with the day-to-day emotional, financial, and educational needs of living with and fighting cancer.
Through our Helping Hand Program, our goals are:
- To ensure all families basic needs are being met by providing assistance with rent, utilities, food, transportation, clothing, and special needs based on each individual child.
- To provide playroom supplies, snacks, and toys to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic for our children and their families.
- To grant any special requests that the families make in their time of need.
Our Helping Hand Program touches many of our families and children in ways such as:
- Bravery Bucks (Checks written to children receiving treatment)
- Cab Fare Vouchers
- Car Repairs and Maintenance
- Gasoline Vouchers
- Lodging Assistance
- Meal Vouchers
- Scholarships Awarded to Cancer Survivors
- Snacks and Drinks at the Hospital Clinic
- Special Requests Made by Families
- Toys and Gift Cards from the Prize Box
- Travel Expenses
- Wigs
- Zoo, Museum, and Aquarium Passes
- Funeral Expenses
