Through a partnership with LIVESTRONG and SuperSibs!, the Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico will offer a $500 scholarship to high school seniors who have, or have had, a sibling with cancer. This is for the 2012-2013 academic year ONLY. Applicants must articulate the impact that cancer had on them, and describe how they will apply this life experience to make a difference for others in the future. The scholarship will be awarded to one student after an independent committee evaluates criteria scores.
To be eligible for consideration for the CCFNM Sibling Scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria during the year of application:
• Must be a sibling of a child who has, or has had, cancer and is being, or has been, treated in New Mexico.
• Must live in New Mexico
• Must be a graduating high school senior in 2012
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or a 2.5 (on a 5.0 scale)
• Must be planning on attending (full time) an accredited college, university of vocational institution in the Fall of 2012.
